A global financial services company is looking for Online/Internet Marketing Executives (Lead Generation, SEO, SEM, Direct Media Buying). 

Job Description
The focus of this role will be planning and executing online & marketing initiatives.  Other activities will include support in various marketing roles, such as content, events, and product vision.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role covers the following:

·         Manage campaigns across multiple online channels, including Search, Display and Social. Constantly test variants to optimize performance
·         Run A/B Testing to optimize website, landing pages and sign-up path
·         Manage and improve the measurement of customer acquisition campaigns (Google Analytics)
·         Use a highly metrics driven approach to help set the direction of our acquisition campaigns
·         Work hand-in-hand with our marketing, content, product and design teams to implement recommendations
·         Develop and execute online advertising strategy
·         Optimize website for search engines
·         Research media websites for ad buy
·         Execute direct media buys
·         Advertising related market research
·         Work closely with business analyst to deliver results
·         A/B testing

This is a hands-on role with a great opportunity to have substantial impact quickly.

Skills we are looking for
·         Metrics, Metrics, Metrics!
·         Online campaign management experience
·         Online marketing experience (search, display)
·         Direct media buying experience
·         Experience with Google analytics, adwords, Salesforce, other 3rd party tools
·         SEO background
·         Very strong planning, tracking and reporting drive – this will be a major role in the job
·         Link development skills to enhance link popularity
·         Understanding of Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. networks
·         Good knowledge of natural search market & search engines
·         Strong communication and liaison skills both written and verbal (essential)
·         Well organized with exceptional attention to detail (essential)
·         Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
·         Good literacy and accuracy skills
·         Mandarin will be a plus
·         Strong understanding of design

How CMS and SEO should compliment each other

Last week I was posted with the question how would CMS help with SEO and is it just the ability to make the names of sections SEO compliant.

My answer to that was: absolutely not.

CMS can do far more than that.

Quality content and optimized search = conversion traffic

A good CMS today will be vital to our search ranking success. The keys factors to SEO are: keywords, title tags, meta tags, anchor text, in/out links and good content.

Content is King and whilst you are optimizing your content to get your ranking high, your competitors are doing the same hence you are constantly optimizing your content to outrank competitors. It’s important to have the flexibility to change content speedily and easily so obviously CMS allows you to do just that as often as you’d like and efficiently. For example, once you have identified the keywords that are performing well in ppc, you should incorporate those keywords into your content and shift the money you pay for those keywords into buying something else - hence optimizing search marketing and better ROIs. As your business grow bigger staying on top will become a necessity and this practice a constant.

Basic rules for targeted digital media buy

I came across several digital banners while looking for tonight's TV schedule on AXN, and I was shocked to see quite a few Chinese banners on an English site. I don't even see an option to choose Chinese language on the site. Come on! This is targeting 101.

I am pretty sure they use geo-targeting (or perhaps filtered by regional selection), the two banners I saw are from two large and reputable banks in Hong Kong but should we reasonably assume if visitors are located in Hong Kong then they can read Cantonese?

My view on how important it is to determine psychographics information

I had just shared my view on a question posted on Linkedin. Coincidentally the question ties in with one of my previous post Planning your digital strategy through targeting.

Psychographics is vital for digital marketing today and it is a lot more than just purchase history, frequency and spending power. Its variables are the many attributes relating to personality, values, attitudes, interests or lifestyles. These information will allow you to create the most appropriate and effective engagement for your audience.

What about Digital Marketing in Asia?

Outsell forecasts digital / online marketing spending in the U.S. will overtake print in 2010. Globally companies are losing confidence in traditional marketing and advertising; the economic downturn has also forced advertisers to spend more money on digital as it has better targeted capabilities, more measurable and accountable.

What about in Asia? Newspaper continues to be the most popular medium because generally marketers believe it offers the highest ROI. A recent Nielson study reports that in 2010, Newspaper will continue to lead with highest budget allocation (27%), followed by TV (23%), Internet (13%), Magazines (11%), Event Marketing (10%) and Outdoor (9%). Overall spending is predicted to increase slightly in 2010.We are also expecting to see more social networking activities with 16% of the respondents planning on using social media to connect with consumers.
